If it was ever true the highest and only good that can or should come of it is that the loving spirit that God breathed into us is thrust back into the world as the atmosphere rises back up to the Beloved like a sweet incense like the sacrifices of Israel.

I feel joy when I give compassion and grace because if it happens within me I know its real— nothing is so reassuring. When I lack compassion I feel dead. My peace with myself and my fate is hidden away seemingly permanently.
